Valid Issue with Receipts.

I added a receipt but in the format of 1101983 rather than say 1/19/1983. Appears to be a simple validation issue - need to keep people from entering bad date values. I received an error as follows:
The error occurred in the Function:
Error Description:
SqlDateTime overflow. Must be between 1/1/1753 12:00:00 AM and 12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM.

The same error occurs if I enter bad data into the invoices date field.
